In 2018, we chose this particular pattern because of what it does in combination with lala palm leaf: holds its shape under weight, and breathes. Both non-negotiable for a safe bassinet.

Finished with rust-coloured leather handles — warm tones that complement the natural lala palm. Each basket is woven by artisans in Malawi, then quality checked in our Cape Town studio, where we attach the leather handles.

Why it's different

Baby Moses baskets have no formal safety standard, so we build ours to bassinet safety requirements and test internally every one: 25–27cm depth all round, a 3D wavy weave for airflow, a 40kg strength press, stability and entrapment checks.

Benefits

Safe by design — Built and tested to bassinet safety requirements: depth, strength, stability, breathability.

Generously sized — Comfortable use from newborn to around six months, or until your baby can sit up unaided or pull themselves up.

Portable — Move baby from room to room through the day.

Made to last — Repurpose as a storage basket once outgrown.

Product details

100% lala palm, handwoven

Approximately 75 x 45 x 25–27 cm, with natural variation of 1–5 cm

Pair with the Merino Nesting Pod and a Rocking or Foldable stand

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0003/0038/4281/products/image_4fed7079-2f24-4e87-b59f-c6fcdf2520c1.jpg?v=1788416096
